Alcatel 5020x ROM, Unbrick, pro_info etc.

Hey guys can please someone explain how can I backup the "pro_info" file from my phone??

According to whats written on the back my phone is 5020X-2ATBGR1

I have installed some roms and now I want the official one cause the one I backed up failed..

And BTW I would prefer the unlocked US/UK version?

Hi,

you can read pro_info with SPFlashTools ,
like I already mentioned in many posts.

Open SPFT, go to scatter-loading, load attached scatter file,
go to memory read tab, press add, select where to save file,
name it 5020x_pro_info,
start address : 0x3140000
length: 0x300000

press read, connect powered off phone to cable.

p.s. There is no 5020x model for USA, just 5020T / 5020W / 5020A / 5020N
you can try "A" model, should be same hardware, others are not compatible.

try playing with pro_info, it can bring succesfull results.

I tried playing with the 3 digits (HC3) right before "SAA" but didnt help
OTU still says I have the latest version already installed.

Btw I have a custom rom installed through CWM.
Could that be the problem?

What I need is to get the stock rom from OTU..

Btw i used latest version of SPFT 5.1352.01

Never do FORMAT from SPFT, before making FULL ROM_0 backup,
you can damage the phone.

Yesterday I had one 5020x, and I read pro_info before and after update,
you can check it, and maybe use pro_info (just edit PID) before I did update,
it should allow you to update phone, too.

If you look closer both files, something else has changed, not that first line.
And, that is - factory software versions of system, custpack, etc.

You can further check, from second pro_info_upgraded file,

It's from other pid, but starting letters are important, ie:

B***** = boot.img
Y**** = system.img,
C**** = custpack.img, etc.

Things that changed in pro_info :

before upgrade          -     after upgrade

and ... info from service softvare, about versions (before/after):
original AAUEFU3 / available AC7EF71

So .... all this can be seen in pro_info .... and in this case,
AAU and AC7 are software versions (latest is AC7, AAU was in phone).

Conclusion: try with my attached pro info, just change PID,
or, play with your pro_info - in your file is : AATY2AAT0T0AB00
try changing that red part, into some lower - ie: AAA or AAU
and retry operation with OTU updater, lets see what will happen,
looks like my sticky thread is totally wrong ... but we will correct it.

You need to do some research for me, it's not problem about ROM,
I will upload it for you, but let's see what will happen with all this pro_info stuff.


Dont forget to post results and progress.

Strange... Looks like I still don't have all answers.

I attached edited pro_info, you will try that first, to see if it will work.

Second ... if above didnt work,

Grab your ROM file - HERE

SPFlashTools - HERE


Follow the standard procedure :
- Unpack ROM, Unpack SPFT.
- Open SPFT, go to scatter loading, load scatter from unpacked ROM folder
- Select manually all files that are not ticked (custpack, ebr3, mobile_info, ebr4)
- Connect powered off phone to SPFT, wait for flashing done.
- After Finish (Green circle and OK), disconnect/reconnect battery
- Power on the phone, wait for it to start.
- Done. You have working phone with desired languages.


p.s. About real, FULL ROM backup :
- Open SPFT, load scatter file
- Tab "Read Back", remove if any existing there,
- Press ADD button, double click on added,
- Select save location, name the file ie: "My_5020x_FULL_BACKUP.bin"
- Start address : 0x0000000000000000 (default) , length : 0x3764c000
- Press READ BACK, and connect powered off phone to cable
- Wait for finish, it will take some time ...

After done, you have SPFT FULL backup, which will, in ANY case,
get your phone back to working state, with original imei and all.
(if you want all that + ALL USER DATA etc - put in address length : 0xFFFFFFFF,
but it will need couple of hours to read it all 4Gb rom ...)

That rom files, are writable via "Window -> Write Memory (enable) - Write Memory TAB.

So I tried the pro_info files attached to your sticky post and they worked!
These files: (www(.)sendspace(.)com/file/rw7hf6)

I thought I had tried them before so excuse me about that!!

Now the interesting thing is that after trying various combinations,
in order to see where those files are different compared to my original pro_info,
I found out that the only thing that needs to be changed in my original pro_info are these letters!
RIW5020X-2ATBGR1

So whenever I change it to something like this
RIW5020D-2AALGR1
OTU starts the upgrade!!

Though by doing this OTU might think I have a different phone.
But then again maybe I can run the update like this and then change it back to 5020X and update again!

Whenever I use 5020X its not working!
I don't know the combinations that exist though, so this might be the reason why.
The thing is that my phone is not a dual sim one so I dont know if I must proceed while its 5020D!

Just make a full ROM_0 backup, and you can play all day long.

Yes, you can update it with 5020D, it's same hardware,
all will work, except second sim.

Question is, when you update it with 5020D,
and after try to return it to 5020X, what will happen.

i found pro_info from 5020A ... attached.
if you want, try with it, too, change PID/Model and see what will happen.

Hey,

I made a full backup as you told me..
Wish I had make one and not trusted the CWM backup..
Still don't know what went wrong with that..

Anyhow 5020A pro_info works as well.
As before I only need to change the PID though not the whole pro_info..
Is there anywhere I can get all the 5020X PIDs? And maybe provider and country info?

I'm now upgrading via OTU. Seems its gonna take a while.
I'll try and change back to 5020X after its done!
