| Motorola v360 power problem I received a moto v360. It was not powering on and the owner doesnt know what happened. i saw some mud on the main board so i washed it in spirit. after drying it, it powered on but after switching off and puttin on charger, the phone will not power on. So i heated the component on the board for a few minutes, i tried powering on and it could power on, after putting on usb cable on pc and switching off, the phone will not power on after pressing power button. I left the phone alone for 1 day, i tried pressing power button and it worked, after switch off, on, off, on, off, then it again fails to power on. What could be causing this problem? |

| I think the owner dropped it in the puddle of mud. Forget about the spirit and alcohol, when you suspect a water damage use "JELT". (it removes oxidizers better then spirit but more expensive). If you suspect the phone was in the water, put it in alcohol (If you don't have Jelt or other anti-oxidizer). And then reheat the entire PCB with Steinel-like heat gun and lot's of flux. ![]() 350C if it's lead-free, or 290 if it's leaded tin. ****WARNING!!!! Do not heat with steinel glued BGA's!!!***** For me this technique fixes 70-80% of water damaged phones. |
