Member: 27936 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | TO Dear RizaPN I have a question about changing the menu texts. is there a more simple way to change the texts despite of decompiling the language pack from full flash and then make my changes and then compiling it to fullflash and applying it to my phone? I think it takes long time for changing only a few letters. for example I wanna change the "flip vertical" to "Supernet" and "function 13" to "Menu Text" but for this few changes I have to decompile and compile language pack then insert it in phone. it's exhausting and maybe there's a simpler way. isn't it? |

Member: 9891 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 2 | *) Compile and decompile (with language_editor), in my opinion, is the "simplest" way (in term of the number of steps). If you want to minimize the time you need to upload the result to your phone (if now you upload them all), then you can upload it partially. Just upload the address 0x4E0000 with size 0x10000 (firmware language area) from the modified fullflash to your phone starting at address 0x4E0000. *) If you ever use my sfe, then you can try this : sfe b fullflash.bin,4e0000,10000 ff_4e.bin and then using V_Klay (flasher mode), open file ff_4e.bin and then write it to the phone. *) You can also use sfe to modify only the string ID that you need : sfe l fullflash.bin > string.txt ... to get all string inside the fullflash.bin sfe l fullflash.bin '"<95>Supernet" ... to compile string "<95>Supernet" and write the result to the correct address (see in the string ID data from file string.txt). If your new string compilation is longer than the existing ones, then better if you use compile - decompile method (using language_editor). rizapn |

Member: 50673 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 2 | There is also another way, Master: use SMELTER, language pack screen you can edit the old string text (no more characters than original) and than select patch screen. You will find the patch ready to be used. |

Member: 27936 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Thanx lalo.lerry. I downloaded smelter and changed the "Flip Vertical" to "Supernet" successfully. but I made a try to return the text from Supernet to Flip Vertical (for evaluating) in smelter but this program didn't support "flip Vertical" and only changed the "Supernet" to "Flip Vert". what's the problem? |

If you want to go back the old string simply undo the first patch. | |
