Member: 8927 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Thanks for the reply but it would help if I knew what the pin-out was. Is it likely to work if I connected an aeriel to the aeriel connection at the top? If not which pin is the aeriel connector in the main plug? Perhaps it would work if I removed the connection which tells the phone it's a car kit and it could then work as if it were a headset, which pin does this? |

Member: 9924 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | not that easy... there is no pin for an aerial connection in the main plug (read the full c35 service manual to read why), the aerial is connected to the connector at the back top of the phone. the main plug is only intended for handsfree or datacable connection. telling the phone not to use an external aerial is not an hardware issue, you would need to modify the software. the hardware only tells the software that there is a handsfree connected (breaking that mechanism would be very stupid), and the software requires an external aerial. |

Member: 8927 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Thanks for the info, It sounds like my best option is to get an external aerial. Is the service manual available on the net, I cannot find it on the Siemens site? |

Member: 9924 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | service manuals on the company's website... would be a nice thing you can find it on landy's page under service manuals --> siemens, it's the biggest zip file... but i post it here why they don't have aerial connector in main plug... "C35 does have an external connector of a new type. Since S6 a so called “Molex”-connector was used, which also offered the possibility to connect an external antenna to it. The new “Lumberg”-connector which is used in C35 does not feature such a connection, because the connector for external antenna is located at the back side of the upper end of the mobile, close to the internal antenna (1130). As a consequence of this there is no need anymore for a RF cable mounted to the board nor for a RF plug on it to connect this cable. This improves RF-properties of the mobile and lowers production costs." if getting an external aerial is the BEST option, i don't know... it's just the easiest... |

Member: 9924 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | the connector thing from the service manual is all about C35, but since x25 the connectors are all the same with same pinout, so this is also valid for C45 |
