Member: 7911 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 7 | What do you need to backup the Siemens phones? Also, what do the different areas do? Looking at "Ziemens x3x Series Workshop 1.22", it has four different memory areas: Core Code (Fairly obvious)
EE_FS (?)
Language (Also fairly obvious)
EEPROM (configuration info?) Is the CEE area part of these, or separate? The program "Siemens TOOL by KOCI ver. 5.20.0" has the following list: Language file
Flash update
Full flash image
Unlocking file
EE Does the "Full flash image" contain everything I need to restore the phone (including the original IMEI)? If not, what else do you need to save? Again, sorry for being so clueless :-) |

Member: 7911 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 7 | I wonder what I'm doing wrong, then - I backed up the full flash with Ziemens 1.22, then tried to replace the EEPROM area with the data from another phone. Result = dead phone. Restored EEPROM from original save - still dead phone. Tried the CEE fix - still dead. Flashed with SWUP (1801), fixed EEPROM with a .bin file I found on the net, and phone just has a black square on the display. Done CEE fix again, and phone works (although the IMEI is changed - not a big problem, since it was already corrupted). Is it possible that the .bin files saved by Ziemens 1.22 are corrupt in some way? They look reasonable when you hex edit them... |

Member: 7716 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Is it possible to save a flash file from a fully working siemens C25 V6.1 and use that to repair a dead Siemens C25 V6.1. If it is, which software is used for this and where can it be downloaded. |

Member: 7911 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 7 | You can get Ziemens 1.22 from Landy's page - there is a lot of good stuff there including manuals and flash images for the Siemens phones. Sorry, I can't remember the URL off the top of my head, but one of the other posts in this forum has it. Pete |

Member: 7911 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 7 | About the only thing I've worked out is that the check boxes only have an effect when flashing - when you read, it always dumps the full 4MB. I dumped the phone repeatedly with various checkboxes on, and the resulting files were all identical. On a related point, does anyone else have a problem wilh Ziemens 1.22 repeatedly stopping part of the way through a memory dump? But I agree with you that it would be nice to get a clear answer Pete |
