Im wanting to replace the orange LED's in my siemens c45 with blue or clear as the current colour hurts my eyes! Does anybody know what spec the existing LED's are? Also I've read through the existing posts here and am constantly reading about software upgrades, What benefits come of this, and if it's worthwhile where can the I.C's or other components necessary be sourced?

Give me a shout if you find out how to change the orange screens on a55's to blue

everything depends on the leds
c45 - no problem, use leds with a high mcd - around 50 and up is good - short the resistors and everithing is fine

wihe the a55 u must use good leds with a low power consumption - i used aome asia imports - the are working with old motorolas and newer siemens model
but i dont know if they will be available on mars ;-)

Moguth, thanks for your help, i'll have my phone sorted in the next couple of days now, but why do the resistors have to be shorted?

I'll explain a bit more... I work in electronics but mod'ing mobiles is quite new to me, Im curios why stuffs done aswell!

the voltage for the leds is to low, if you have a little fun with the resistors, you have almost 3,5 v - (normally around 2,9v)
blue, white, truegreen and some pink leds need more than 3v to be bright enough
but you can change the leds - test ist and if they are to dark for you - short them (or change them)
