Full falsh and EEprom - GSM-Forum

I saw in some sites of sl45i, upgrading of eeprom v.56 and full falsh v.56 what is the differant of them and which one is include the other.

The EEPROM is a memory area that stores user preferences such as profile settings and keyboard shortcuts.
The full flash goes to the memory area where mobile's software is.

In other words: Flash is the mobiles program, while EEPROM is your setings.

To update your phone you need both of them. If you apply only the FF then your settings will still be stored, but it will be in fw55 format which is slightly different.

Make sure you make a backup of both EEPROM and FFLASH before upgrading to fw56
