Sl45 Memorycard Problem - GSM-Forum

Hi,
how to make sl45 accept MMC 32 mb other than original siemens, I mean MMc that before using in nokia, cause I have MMC 32 but if i inserted to phone and try to play Mp3 it says insert multimedia card, if i use original one it can play.

check contacts. it should work anyway. Never mind that is not originall from siemens...
I've used at my sl45i mmc from kingmax and other brands...

1) insert MMC ALWAYS when I've turned off the phone...

2) try to clean che contacts, on the internal phone and on the mmc, too.

Well the first question is, r u using the mmc card as it was from nokia.. i mean, did u format ur mmc as it was having nokia folders and info.. if not then first thing is tht u need to format the mmc card, and install all the default folders of siemens and it shud work prefectly fine..

actually I'm not only try 1 MMC but many MMC from 16mb,32,128,256mb, AND it doesn't work in this Hp, only work if using the original one, the MMC and HP contact is good, and before the MMC is formatted (already try fat 16, and fat 32), and the last thing I do is clone the working MMC using Winhex, and doesn't help too.

@elwan: strange.. believe me, ANY mmc should work fine with SL45. i use kingmax, and i sold my original mmc long time ago.
do you hev memory card reader? try format the mmc, then copy the backup of your contact list and all the folders...

are you sure the mmc is working in the nokia? maybe the mmc is in damage condition.

yes, I have MMC card reader ver1.0 and ver 2.0, and I try formatted the MMC using this 2 card reader, and Under win98 and XP,using fat 16, and 32,still no help, in computer and any nokia that have MMC 3650,3660,9210 it's working, but in siemen sl45 not, other siemens(my friend) not accept too,
could it be the "software vers" of the phone? mine is LG1 ver 16, what is your friends?

What?

Version 16? Too old... Oh man, not all the MMC work fine in SL45i. There's a compatibility list... ok? Try to check it... Perhaps your card isn't compatible with Siemens.

Dear friend, just upgrade to 56 and activate tha Java.

Only then, u can search your language to copy in LANGUAGE forlder of your MMC ( it's a LNG file... ).
