USB Updates for sl45 Can it be done??


Im going out ot buy a usb data cable for the sl45. Can I update the firmware still with this particular data cable?

If this just a cable for emulating general COM (USB to COM converter) - then - yes - you can update the firmware...

NO it is actually straight from the USB port. So I guess the answer is no then. Oh well

no, you dont understand - in most cases answer is YES
this cable at one side have a USB coonector, at the other side - SL45 connectror, but actually (by mean of drivers with this cable) the USB port is like COM port... (COM3, 5 or biggest)... And you can use it this any soft, by selecting this COM port....

Oh I get it. I thought you ment a usb plug to a serial plug which I have seen around. So when I ask the software to find out which ports are available I should come up with Com 1(my printer port) and Com ?(whatever com port the usb adaptor is emulating) Cheers ValeraVi very helpful indeed
