will sl45i work in ireland?

there is a rumor tjat sl45i will not work in england anymore... is it true? i have a plan to work in ireland... and i need my sl45i there...
somebody in polish forum wrote that in Dublin he bought pre-paid card from operator named meteor and his sl45i couldnt find network with this card.... someone said that the problem might be in voltage of simcards sl45i probably can use only 3V simcards and the new ones 1,8V cant be handled by sl45i is that true? can someone confirm that pre-paid cards from ireland are working with this phone? and please give me the name of the operator... meteor doesnt work! confirmed by two sl45i users... and O2 probably works fine... i need to be 100% sure
thx for answers
