if my cell is simfree will it remain simfree after the end of the process?
should it be done with sim in or out?
can it harm the phone?

Yes, it will remain free.
Do it with SIM, there's no need to pull it out.
It can harm it only if you loose the power, so make sure that your batter is fully charged.

The new version is is improved and their are repaired a lot of v14 bugs
