I've been having the same problem. No phone manager software I've tried will connect via cable or infrared. Windows recognizes the phone straightaway (Xp Pro) and files can be transferred between the PC & phone (CX65 sw25)

Seems that MPM etc can't access the IR port.

Cable is a Mobile-Action USB-serial bridge & works with C55 etc. including full flash, unlock etc. & one of the flashers I tried connected to the CX65 but nothing else works.

Any help & advice much appreciated

I think it was AT Enable & VNavigator Siemens FlexExplorer (VSFE)
I know that if you connect 10kOm resistor to 2 with 5 cable pinouts, solves all connection problem with flashers, winswup and so on.

Try to connect those 10kOm resistors to 2 with 5 cable pinouts...I think it would solve your problem.
With transfers files I suggest SiMoCo/VNavigator Siemens FlexEplorer

All this software you will find @ www.wyshniukas.com

Hi m8

Opened the plug on my data cable & pins 1-6 are all connected via the cable. Plus the resistor values are quoted differently from one thread to the next on here. Can you tell me if the 10K's will work on the USB cable & which pins to connect them to? Thanks very much for your reply m8.

Plus any advice on why bloody Windows Xp won't allow other programs to access the IR (& how to get round it) will be much appreciated

I tested with the USB cable with PL2303 microchip, used 10kOm resistor & it worked very well. There is a problem that I dont have that cable & cant make a photo how to it was connected...sold it & changed to few original cables
Here is the photo how one website suggested to connect resistors (2x15kOhm) but it's no need. You can open the box in the midle of cable & plug, find what color is 2 pinout & 5 pinout, then connect that resistor 2 pinout to 5 in the box & test it. In *#06# more, find Acc: It should show plugged in: DCA510
About IR...try to download newer MPM version like 4.03 or 4.06 or just try this: open MPM, go to Settings, Connections...I think it will be selected to Automatic, so make Manual, chose COM port which uses IR, select again Automatic & Apply...now wait till MPM finds phone, ~10s as I remember.
Also IR problem can be related to mobile firmware, so I suggest also to upgrade to FW50

@cobraro

I only have the one cable which fits the x55/65/7# series so looks like I'm going to have to buy one

I did try MOBILedit! but although this detected the phone via IrDA the bloody thing wouldn't browse the phone then crashed & wouldn't run again :bash: a bit like when you have multiple instances of WORD in Task Manager & the window won't appear, although I couldn't find this program in the running task list. Haven't tried it since

old story ...

some cables work, some not ...

but here's how to make ALL work ..

install cable drivers,
power on the phone, with sim inside,
use attached AT_Enabler,
after it report that have found the phone,
you can use either MPM or SiMoCo software,
which will 100% recognize the attached phone.

i use this method for ages,
and it worked on every phone ...

Yep, too old one

I`m impressed nobody noticed the file x65_VNavigator.rar at evil-hackers.com/BB-gsm ?!!
It was uploaded and named VNavigator from 2005, after I renamed it x65 but still noone "found" it ))

Install it, no need any enabler or anything, just Rx, Tx, GND with any cable

And you`ll see folders of phone, copy/paste/delete anything as in PC !

Regards,
B
