S66 unlocking - GSM-Forum

Hi; read and searched the whole forum but still not 100% clear...
Need to unlock my S66 (US S65 brother)
What cable do I use? USB, Siemens serial or special
SST software I guess (found some stuff here)
What else to I have to look for?
SW Version is 34 / Variant A950

Try papuasutils if your phone is on the same platform as other x65.

Thanks, it's technically a S65 ... BUT the US flavor locked into "Cingular Wireless". Just checked the link -- urghhh

my Russian ***** and I didn't find a site where I could get a good translation.

Thanks, do I need testpoint? Sorry I'm new to this, not a professional just a private party trying to get one phone (my own) unlocked. I'm used to Nokia where things are much easier (at least as it seems)

I think your message will be moved to lg section.
You can unlock it with vygis cracked very easily.So use search button

It depends on the sw version.If it's above 36 you can unlock it with midlet from chaos,if lower only papuasutils

Just checked, SW-Version comes back with "34"
FFS Version with:
S66_2_us-CW_34_0023
Do I need a special box or JUST the original serial cable - tried to get one today but everybody is carrying USB only. Anyone a source in the L.A. are or where the get the DC500 cable?

That's good

Now you only need papuas and simple com cable.Press autoopenall to calculate keys(You can need them afterwards).
Afterwards u can use search button for the other needed tools such as eeprom tool and etc.

Hopefully I can get a COM cable, have only USB right now MPM recognizes the phone but flashing seemed to be impossible. There was once a port mapper where you could map a USB port to a COM port but I didn't find it, bummer...

What cable should I get to unlock? DCA-510 or DCA500? Have a USB sync. cable already so (CX65 no name) .... and have read that the DC-510 may even charge the phone operated over a USB hub. Some thoughts would be helpful since I wanna buy ASAP the right cable to finally USE my S66.
