Update CX6V with CX65 firmware. Is it possible? - GSM-Forum

My problem is to update a branded phone with non-branded firmware!!!

I try to debrand it first with success but the non-branded firmware doesn't recognize the phone...

Do u have any suggestions???

Interesting....

Have you tried service - winswup fw for update ?

In old days, winswup for s54i could be installed in a ME45 or S45, but then also required some modifications in firmw that the 's45iactivator' tool performed well...

May some EEPROM blocks might require de-branding....

If you insist, you might try to fool fw update by changing inside the firmware the strings for the model that go that way, in the place that also 'lg' string and 'SIEMENS' string are like :

lg1.............
CX65............
SIEMENS.........

where dots are actually nulls (00).

I have not tried that, just a thought. It is in your own risk !

I want to do the exactly same thing to my C6V and update it with C65 firmware. Can anyone help?
