Does that have the wanted effect? Because I expect an idle time of zero seconds which means that I have mainscreen again immediately after pressing a key (or at least one second later).

we should find idle counter address in ram, and reset it every eg. 1 seconds

Disable IDLE Timer :

Just add these 2 lines BEFORE rets from init() part :

calls 0f07fach
calls 0f07ec0h

It works in my BIN file ...

@rizapn:
Great. Simple additional question: can we re-activate the idle counter? (I know, you give us little finger and we want whole hand It's not that important.
So we have great possibility to create own mainscreen without all the patchwork. Just make a .bin file with all wanted features and execute.

The IDLE timer will be automatically set back to the firmware value after quitting from the BIN file.

@riza: OK thanks. That's already quite good. So we can run a binary forever.
Another question about doFunc5 (Program handler): can you tell me the difference between run() and init()? Because in your binaries the run()-handler is always set to rets. What if I set run()-pointer to some code? When will it be executed by handler?

Is there already a possibility to start a binary with C166 code (not with card explorer)? I'd like to have a shortcut for some binaries - like midlet shortcut or running midlets through entrypoints. With direct starting from assembler it would be possible.

doFunc5():
Sorry, but I just guess those functions handler (I found it only by "accident", after some trial-and-error, then G-o-d direct me to the drawEasterEgg routines). I did try to put _start routines in run() OR in init(), and both give the same result. What I was thinking when I wrote that run() and init() is : run() function will be called every x ms, and init() is called only once in the 1st time, but I think, that is not the situation. In my trial, both will be executed in the init time (which one is earlier, I did not check yet) ...

Executing Binary File by Command
Yes, of course that is possible. Not a big patch, but I don't have it yet (and actually, I hope somebody else will do that) ...

*) Edited:
OK, I finish the 1st version of EBIN patch, executing bin file through the entry-point ... Just published in the Flash Patches topic

@Trek:
If you want to make sure about your finding, then better if you try it using AT+CGSN patch which has run capability. If you don't have that (AT+CGSN patch), the you can try to use your entry-point with another patch, for example, [RightArrow] patch or any other shortcut patch. Then, you can see what is the result ...

i don't know how to convert the at+cgsn pach for sme45v28, and when i patch the v04 i've serious problems with phone: after several discharging and charging the battery,there appears some errors in eeprom, and i've to reflash the phone, i don't know why.
i've checked allready if i'm right about the mainMenu(). i just had changed the help in menu with this adress.. but the phone've blocked, no bzzz...no info,just didn't answered my commands.as when you try to run the browser without a simcard...i though that this is probably because of wrong routine or because of the infinity cycle inside memory..but i'm still not shure...
i found a patch for slik45 that makes it to be able read txt files, is there a possibility to convert that patch for sme45v28?
i'm really interested in using my phone without a sim,so that's why i'm asking so much questions

Don't waste your time with v28!
Upgrade to s45iv4, so all the sme45i patches will be available for you.
The procedure is easy, well documented and absolutely safe (if you've made backups, of course) .

This patch is NOT converted to S/ME , BUT in sme45iv4 there is:
1. a possibility to read short txt files ( <2000 b)
2. a trick making it possible to read big txt files (well known trick with e-mail client).

redkin.. as i sad in last thread i wrote.. the problem with v04 is with my eeprom block, after a few charging of battery it's going a mess inside the booth eeproms of the phone...this is 17 blocks that are ****ed up
i don't know why is that,but i thing it's something with battery sensors and values. anyway,the second problem with v04: it's really buggy version, when i flash my phone with it, every 2 days, especially when i turn on the phone there is bzzzz..and nothing's happening...when remove the battery and plug it on once again, everything is fine, but just for a while.. and after a few mounths never helps at all unless reflashing of the eeprom blocks..
