About "long Date"

The "Date via language pack" is a nice patch !
But when I try to change my language pack as you mentioned to
"Januar" & "Monday" etc. ist shows the string like this one:

Monday13Januar

Ok, I solved the "problem" by changing the day string to "Monday, [CommaSpace]" and "._[DotSpace]Januar" but is it normal ?

Yes, you can insert Space or any ASCII symbol before or after name of day and month. You can see example in the patch - I use one Space by put this text: "<95> " - space between > and ".

Derar Riza!

I write in name of all Polish users form forum.siemensinfo.pl. (not only) and my own. We need Your help! As we know FAM is heavily buggy We loss our addressbooks too often (e.g. today I 3 times! ) Pls. try to fix it! And one more thing, our SMS logs are about 30KB! So any midlet can't work with that file Can you make write SMS logs in separate files too?

Sorry for disturb you, but it's very important for us, just simple SLIK users.

regards MacKam

Eehm, I have SMS in a seperate log file...
Quote:
;v2 -> add SMS record in A:\Misc\sdyyyymm.log
;SMS flag:S(end),R(eceived),D(eliveryReport)
Or do you think about different files for S/R/D ?

That's really big problem.
I don't have that problem, but have problem of java applets loading file from MMC. It's also CDR/FAM related problem, riza told us so.
Byt how is it possible to have so different sympoms? Is it possible that some other patches also make this FAM bug appear more frequently, or appear in different form?
It just crossed my mind today, is it possible that Skip Addressboook when viewing sms patch can cause some problems with FAM...? Has anyone tried FAM without this Skip... patch? What are your experiences?

No "Skip Adressbook when viewing SMS" has NOTHING in common with FAM

If you view an SMS it first searches for the sender in adressbook (making the viewing annoying slow) and if there's no content then it searchs second the SIM location (much much faster)

So the patch expressed in easy words just skips the adressbook. There are some configurations for that patch
* Skip Adressbook in list and viewing mode (you can get it from this forum - but has some bugs if you want to send an SMS and your SIM is empty you can't enter a reciepient)
* Skip Adressbook in list but use it in viewing mode (I use that variant and the bug written above is canceled)

OK. But aren't you wondering how come that different people have different "symptoms" in their SL's 45, even though the origin of the problem is the same - FAM?
I never lost an addressbook, but if I want to have java working normally, I have to turn phone on and off more than 10 times a day. So, both problems appear often, but what is the cause of these two different problems appearing - why not only one? Or both, but in every SL45?
Maybe that answer could lead to idea which would enable riza or someone else, to fix fam...

@cyperghost: can you post Skip Adressbook in list but use it in viewing mode, which you mentioned?

Once again: I had the problem with the "disappearing adressbook" only once (after installing fam). Now my mobile runs without any errors. And I use CDR/FAM/ANM etc...

IMHO that's the better patch variant. You can switch fast through SMS in list mode and the sender is searched in adressbook if you open the SMS. And the bug, that instead the adressbook the SIM location is opened, is "fixed!"
but I've the same symptoms as you. Sometimes Java does not run - I've to turn off phone and then switch it on. And as trustkill mentioned I also lost my adressbook as I installed the FAM patch. There was a discussion of that topic.
FAM kills Adressbook - Let's discuss the reasons. If you have any experience or suggestion use that topic to post please
