7650 contact memory keeps on increasing!! - GSM-Forum

guys... have u noticed that even though u delete some of ur contacts.. it doesnt decrease the consumption of ur memory.... a friend of mine noticed it first... so i did an experiment... i started with 89kb of contact memory... i deleted 1 contact and its 91kb.. i deleted 5 more and its still increases.... every time u play around with ur contacts(edit, add thumbnails, delete number)it will keep on adding to ur memory..... it was tested on the latest version available.... any solution to this bug???? thanks in advance and happy new year to all!!!

typical situation, most noticeable faults get fixed last !!!!!!!!!!

hmmmm... oh well.... luckily i backuped my phone a few days before i played with my contacts.... i just restored it and now its back to its real memory size... i hope its the real one...

But in any way, you should update 7650 firmware. v3.16 fixes this bug.

i do have v 3.16.. and my friend has v 4.39 with the same bug...

i don't think this is bug, u wait a couple of days w/o doing any changes to your contacts then the size will reduced. I guess nokia has done some compressing work on the contact file, when u hav make changes to it, it need some time to re-compress it again

Yes it is normal, it increases some 10 kb but after deleted some more contacts it decreases... I don't know why but i tryed and it works this way...
