Changing language (and other things) of Nokia Asha 210

Hello,
this is my first post, so let me anticipate that, although I am a CS graduate, I do not know almost anything about embedded systems and cellphones. But I am curious and willing to learn about how cellphones work

Well, here's the problem: I went to China and bought a Nokia asha 210, but it has only support for English, Chinese and other asian languages I do not understand. It has some settings that I just do not like and I would like to change them to fit my needs.

For example, the "WhatsApp button" does not open WhatsApp, but opens an alternative app which I do not care of. I installed the whatsapp application, but it does not seem possible to bind the application to the button.

Also, the browser will always start opening a Chinese page, and would be nice to have at least an English one. Also, some websites (i.e. Facebook) can't be visited and I suspect that Chinese's firewall is blocking them because (if I got it correctly), Nokia Xpress browser will pre-process the webpages using a Nokia proxy before sending them to the phone.

Also, it seems I can't connect the phone to Nokia Suite or Nokia PC Suite... Again, I suspect it is something related to the Chinese version of the phone (btw, I am in Italy).

So, I heard there is something called "Product code" which tells that my phone is Chinese and not European, and I heard that the product code can be changed and that I can fix, in some way, the state of affairs, get new languages, and so on.

Can you please give me advice on the situation?
Do I need to change the product code? Can I fix the above issues with some hacks? What can I do?

Thanks in advance for any help or support!
~Ale
