Unlock D500 with USB cable - GSM-Forum

My first post and it's a request, apologies in advance!
I have just bought a samsung D500 which is network locked onto orange. i have also bought a USB cable and got the WinIMEI software.

I only want to unlock the phone from the orange network but the software doesn't seem to recognise the connection, will this software only work with a serial cable or do i need different drivers to get it to work with a usb cable.
I have tried all the regular codes but to no avail.

is there any other software out there to unlock my network lock that will work with a usb cable?

Will flashing the phone work as i've heard you can flash with a usb cable?

you can unlock it with more free soft

but u need COM cable

that's all

Yes brother you are right if anybody want to unlock D500 so he should have a data cable of D500 with a free software and other way is Ufs with HWK for unlock D500 set.

you can D500 use usb cable withe all d500,e720,d600,e350 unlocking softwares.

yes there is a usb unlocking cable avalable, but it isnt just a basic usb cable for loading pic etc, it comes with certain drivers to make it work as a com port.

this driver is for USBtoCOM cable with PL-2303

You CAN NOT unlock D500 with the USB cable which comes in box !

Hi mates,
With your prolific Pl 2303 based cable, you need to make modification with respect of this diagram.
8-11 ground and look for rx tx (5,6 ritght to left)
With this cable you can use winimei, nsdongle, coronna (flashing at 920 ko/s)

all software and a guide can be found @ http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dazza193 hope this helps also you cant use a usb cable its a com cable with a 9v battrey to it mate..
