winimei change imei problem - GSM-Forum

right heres the low down, my friend gave me his buggered d500 to help with my problem, the imei is working fine on it, but the screen and the phone is suffering water damage, so theres no way of getting the bluetooth id

i have a 9v comm port cable and winimei 1.37 and also winimei 1.01

when i use 1.37 the "change bt id" button along with "new" and also "wrt bt" & "wrt imei" are grayed out so i cant use them

when i use winimei 1.07 (i think its that, not sure but it doesnt give a lot of countrys)

i can change the bluetooth id, but when it comes to changning the imei, and it asks for TAT mode, i can get into TAT mode but then get FAILED in the top right hand corner of the screen (winimei)
and this error message

Failed In Reading Phone's Version !
Reading...Version...Wait...
Success in Entering the TestMode In 13sec...!
Waiting for Entering the TAT Mode!

? can some one please tell me if this is because its a O2 firmware phone and that the winimei instructions say to use UKorange? if so, the older version of winimei only has orange on it and not o2

were as the 1.37 has o2 BUT has the fuctions grayed out, please help as this is driving me crazy

i have done a search but all people seem to do is say "iv fixed it and iv done it" with out explaining HOW?

is FIRMWARE the same as PHONE version?

software version is d500addl3_ed1 xaed1 02ukpo
hardware version is mp 3.601

sorted it, well it had nothing to do with the software or the phone, it was the comm port on me puter... hooked it up to me friends comp an worked strait away,

also for all those having problems with getting it to TAT mode,

leave the phone unplugged and turned off with the sim OUT till it says WAITING TO ENTER TAT MODE
then ( you need to be fast ) plug the phone into the comm port cable (make sure the 9v square battery is new and plugged into the cable) and then press and hold the power button on the phone till it says in big red text

I had the same problem with a newly flashed d500 (it had no imei either) so i had to reset the phone using codes before it would read version with winimei
