Good solution the cable one. As for the solution with codes i've not tested it yet but as soon as a mobile apears i'll be appy to try.

The code trick is bunk.. Even if it would work it would not be a fully unlocked phone.

Hi,

Thanks for all the info, it has really helped but when using the WinIME I cannot get it to read the serial cable.It comes up saying retry! The USB Com port is also greyed out in the first diplay screen. I have tried to short pin 2 &3 on Com 1 but this doesn't seem to change anything.

Does anyone have any helpfull tips? Thanks

Hi,

Trying to unlock my z500v with winime program, i get a message in the bottom left box saying : retry!! Check serial communication with phone.
Serial Com.-NG

I have tried shorting pin 2 & 3 by wrapping a little piece of wire around the pins. Am i being a complete idiot? Is there a knack to shorting these stupid pins or should i just put my PC and phone in the microwave! Any suggestions would be great

@ riadh_tn You are wrong !
If LG3g USB cable is "Home made" we can use it for Z500.
Factory USB cable from LG3g is not valid for Z500 ! And You have risk damadged Your phone !!!

For Z500v freezed, I used LG3G dual flashing cable (usb+com) with only usb part and puting ( just when UMTS soft from "unlock easy" search for phone) a screw driver between pins 2 and 3 of PC com port.
This cable might be called "home made", unlock cable or whatever...it 's a LG3G modified cable.

Yes I try WinImei UMTS for Z500 but always get "Lock Read Fail"

1- Enter code *7465625*28782# without a sim in the phone
2- Phone will display "Auto Subset Lock: Activated!"
3- Enter code *7465625*28638# without a sim again
3- Phone will display "Auto Network Lock: Activated!"
4- Now insert the sim and enjoy! Phone is Unlocked!

just tried this , and guess what? it works perfectly on my z500v, my phone just unlocked! thanks reefer45, all the credits belong to you!
