Only Games Working on Samsung F480 (F488) 240 x 320
 

Hi everybody.

I created this thread for everyone here who got games actually working on Samsung F480.

Actually I created an online folder on 4shared to upload all the games that are actually working on my F480 (F488) and the true touchscreen games are already without the bottom bar.

If u want to help on this, please upload your working games to this folder:

Please Specify there if the game is true touch without the bar.

I have already uploaded some games there, I will update more as long as i find games working on my F480.




In case that u don´t know how to remove the bottom bar... these are the steps:


Just edit the MANIFEST file, zipped in the JAR file and add the line:
MIDlet-Touch-Support: True

So you just open the JAR file with winrar, then find MANIFEST, open with notepad and add the line
MIDlet-Touch-Support: True

Save the file, re-ZIP the files and rename back to a JAR file.

This should remove the bar.

Well ... I am sorry to tell but the only way i am able to install games is via GPRS, it´s really annoying that we can´t use the USB Cable to install our games for free.
I am still looking for a method to install it, but with no success

When sometimes when I installed some games, they don´t even work and is just a waste of money.

That´s why i created the folder with only working games for f480.

So u guys can be sure that it is really working and won´t be a waste.

Do you goto the website on the Tocco and then download them from there? if not how do you install the games please?

OMG !!! I got to pay 385 HK dollars for this month xD (US$ 49) When i just normally pay 50 - 60 HK dollars... too much money for downloading games... xD I won´t download more games till i am sure they will work xD. This is why i created the folder... to avoid this huge bill !!!

But you mentioned the program TkFileExplorer so it means you have been there: I cannot believe it is not enougth for you, it is a step by step procedure. What else do you need?

When I download game from here, and when I unzip it, folder contains lots of files and cant find jar file ... :s I am doing something wrong dont know what :D thats the problem.

Ahhhh I got it now :) got them uploaded in JAR/JAD but cant find them on phone now :S :)

did you create a new folder (within the games folder) on the phone, and did you use the code to update the java db?

I have done it ^^ and games are working fine now ! :)

would it be possible for people to possibly post their experiences with the games, as i've only found one that fully works so far and that's 'Block Breaker Deluxe'.

The others seem to have a white bar across the bottom - which on it's own wouldn't be a problem - but it seems to cut off part of the screen on some occasions and on others the buttons that are meant to be there don't respond to presses.

now i have another question. i have some games that only hae a .jar file but i know i need a .jad too. i used a programm to create a .jad from .jar but when the game starts up it says wrong file format or something like that. anybody tried something similar?

hi. ive dled bubble bash and installed it sucessfully on my samsung f480. however it doesnt seem to work during game play. i try clicking all over the screen and it doesnt maneuver. only the options and back button responds.

can anyone help?

I´ve no games supporting touch jet, but when I edited the manifest file, how do I re/zip all the files then? I did it with winRAR but then I can only choose from .rar en .zip. Not .jar How can I do that?

I'm looking for a way to remove the virtual keypad in my Java games, because some of them don't need it but it appears anyway. I have tried editing the MANIFEST in notepad and adding the line ''MIDlet-Touch-Support: True'' but it doesn't make any difference.

Any ideas?

Maybe you are not doing it right...

You just open the JAR file with winrar, then open MANIFEST with notepad and add the line
MIDlet-Touch-Support: True


this is how it looks,

After you add it there. save the changes.

Then after all this, zip all the files again, in zip format.
then... you have to modify the file extension by yourself.

if u cannot see the file extension ".zip" then in the same window, go to:
Tools------ Folder Options...----- Click the tab "View". Now .. under Hidden files and folders... search for " Hide extensions for known files type" and unmark it. Click OK.

Now you should be able to see the .zip extension "game.zip"

Now you have to rename that "game.zip" to "game.jar" to rename it just select the game and press F2, or u can also do right click and on the game and click rename, then just modify the ".zip" for the ".jar"

almost all the latest touchscreen games from gameloft work fine.

You should be able to download them from the folder, I just tested it and it´s working.

sorry... that folder is working. i always facing ip problem.
the error message shown like this:
"You are already downloading a file from IP-address 219.93.152.34. To download another file you have to wait until current download process is finished.
In case you are not downloading anything and got this message, then you are using a proxy-server or a shared IP-address.

Would anyone happen to know of a game (for the samsung f480) based on a certain instrument. eg: a guitar... when you put your finger on a certain string, it makes sound. i had an application like that on my f480, but the sound didnt work because it was for nokia.

hei guys... i found out most of the games only have.jar files.. i need .jad file too. do you know how to get the .jad file of a .jar file?

I have followed the instructions for installing games from PC but when I get to entering Internals and it asks me for master key how the f**k do I enter it without a keypad to do so?
Am I missing something here?

It's okay I worked it out.
Not my phone. Didn't realise all you had to do was swipe the screen to get a keyboard.

Once the file is unzipped there is a step by step video to guide you through.

I know how to install the jar/jad files if they are together, but i don't know how to install them if its just jar, i tired it via the links suggested in this thread but i doesn't come up when i go to the games on the phone. any ideas?

Just thought i'd tell you i've edited the .jad for Bolt 1.5 to remove the bar for touchscreen phones like the F480.

Help! I tried all the steps on downloading the games with no bar - but my phone gives me an error message - "invalid content"... how do I get this to work?

It downloaded the content but when installing it gave message "Invalid content"

so easy but you should try different choices
for example a friend said me he tried COM5 and it opened so simple options like this
