i will put some kind of schematics:

If you have a powerpc Mac:
you only can use Virtual PC and emulate, as told by bb-gsm

If you have an intel core duo Mac:
1) you can use apple's solution "boot camp" (it will flash the EFI) and you can install XP and boot with macosx or windows xp

2) you can use the hacker's solution previous to boot camp, it also will modify the EFI and you get the same result but without the prepared set of drivers of boot camp, so computers behaviour can be erratic.

3) you can use the boot camp solution described in point 1, and instead of booting with xp, you can boot with macosx and use the application "parallel" to run xp from a windows in macosx

In any case, can't imagine why a mac user could need xp

Do you agree with above, bb-gsm?

When you have mac you will know that, and when you want Windows on Mac it is another case, a pity case

@ MC Harami

If you want to sell it, contact me in PM .
I don't understand when you say you can't boot from CD/DVD !!!

we can choose what we want to boot from, also there is linux distribution ( unbuntu live ) that we can test it without installing.
I have PowerBook G4 with two OS : tiger and ubuntu 6.06 and works perfectly (not for unlocking, it' for another usage )

The sense of the phrase was to establish that, in a PC, you have the BIOS, a small hardware-based firmware that allows you to control some harware options in order to make the basic process of configuration and preparation to boot.
In Mac there's no need of a such a system, because instead os using a BIOS, a separated program to setup the hardware and the boot behaviour, Mac uses a system with a boot loader that is used by the operating system as well.

So, there's no need to establish the boot proceediment as a separated process. (Also, that's what you loose when you use XP on an Mac intel, you loose the intimate hardware control from the operating system).

Well, maybe is a weird thing. In other sense, we can talk about the PC as a hardware item where you can use a software. Mac is an union, hardware and software has the same horizontal architecture and ierarchy (whether using Mac OSx, ubuntu, XP with boot camp or whatever).

Regards
