Can you check if there is a third party listening in?

I am not paranoid by nature, but I think someone is listening in on my Cell.
Is there an easy way to check that? Or it it possible to check that?

Tnx in advance JasK

As far as I know it is not possible, but you could use encrypted communication. there ar special phones for this purpose, use google, you will find these types of phones. They use extra encryption on top of normal GSM encryption.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Yes, I know of these crypto cells, but they cost about 3750 euro a piece and that's a little to much for me.
Anyone has that software?

If you suspect someone is listening to your mobile conversation, the easiest way to stop it is not to use your phone in confined areas.
Most of the common listening devices are area limited .... about 20 feet. And they can only hear what you say, not the other guy.
But if you think your phone is constantly monitored, whereever, you are, then it is done off-air, by the govt, police. Then you are doing something you should not be doing. In that case, change your number!

Tnx Mike!
That looks like a real nice package.
I hope I can get the software compiled for a couple of siemens s35's. It has been a while since I've been messing around with gsm software, but I'll give it a try.

This software is not patching the phone, it runs on your pc, and only uses your mobile as a modem.

That's not enough. U must change your phone and simcard too! (Or change Im_i number with changing of SIM). Always virgin phone (or IMEI) with virgin SIM

you can listen to a phone conversation with a 2M walkie-talkie, only need to change the antenna for another one (wont say which one )

There is nothing u can do about being listened, only call encryption (if it is public)

I already changed the imei and the sim in my phones. But I still want to try to build me my own cryptofoons with the software provided on the net. I found some freeware to try, but don't think it will work

neither changing imei or simcard will work.

if you move to a company who works on another band (for example from 900 to 1800) then they will need to get the new frequency. but anyway, its not hard to do that, so it will still not be definitive solution.

i am not sure of this, but i think there is some sw for symbian phones that encrypts the phone call or smth. repeat, i am not sure of this.

my advice: best phone to mod so far is nokia 3310. sources and code for fw customization are available on net and on this forum.
