They use extra encryption on top of normal GSM encryption. Hope this helps. BR, Mike |

Most of the common listening devices are area limited .... about 20 feet. And they can only hear what you say, not the other guy. But if you think your phone is constantly monitored, whereever, you are, then it is done off-air, by the govt, police. Then you are doing something you should not be doing. In that case, change your number! |

That's not enough. U must change your phone and simcard too! (Or change Im_i number with changing of SIM). Always virgin phone (or IMEI) with virgin SIM | |

Member: 228441 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | I already changed the imei and the sim in my phones. But I still want to try to build me my own cryptofoons with the software provided on the net. I found some freeware to try, but don't think it will work |

if you move to a company who works on another band (for example from 900 to 1800) then they will need to get the new frequency. but anyway, its not hard to do that, so it will still not be definitive solution. i am not sure of this, but i think there is some sw for symbian phones that encrypts the phone call or smth. repeat, i am not sure of this. my advice: best phone to mod so far is nokia 3310. sources and code for fw customization are available on net and on this forum.
