I have a latitude cp233.

Try clearing the eeprom and put it back, see what happens. And geez, you soldered out a smd eeprom? wow.

zeros

The empty space looks like zeros there already. Maybe also try deleting parts of the eeprom if it doesnt work.

I found that i needed a new programmed Eeprom, was quite cheap really (£25) i tried putting in a empty eeprom and it doesnt work, system just hangs!

There a lot of places that do these chips.

Unless it a IBM and then it becomes REALLY expensive! lol

Regards

NaaN
