you can read the eeprom with various tools use the google. The eeprom must be stored in binary format.

If the password is longer then 7 character in this case the password would be a little bit funny and you must to use the reset password option. The clean eep stored and you must to rewrite the eeprom.

It was tested only under xp and Mac Leo. The java runtime environment must have been installed your computer. without JAVA the application cannot run. You can download the enviromnet: java.com: Java + You (all os: win, linux, solaris, ofcourse apple use own distro not need to download anything)

First you will try to run the SVP_Tool.jar if is not work try to run the starter file.

File list:
SVP_Tool.jar : The password recovery application
readme.txt : this readme file
passWIN.bat : windows starter file
passMAC.cmd : OSX starter file
passLinux.sh : Linux starter file (you have to give to execute access to this file ex.: chmod +X passLINUX.sh )

When Post than give Pic´s and Info´s

feedback : the program gives me this error : incorrect file format. However it is a binary file : I first tried with the .rom file from the dump, and then tried with the same file converted into .bin through the command xxd -r -p in the linux terminal...

Could you help me telling me what I did wrong ?
