Nyayamakad and Eravikulam National Park in Munnar

Mother Nature has been very kind to Kerala state and has bestowed Kerala with immense natural beauty. Its meandering rivers, lakes, waterfalls, hills covered with greenery, hill stations and the diverse wildlife are a treat to watch. Tourists from every corner of the world visit Kerala. It welcomes every tourist with lot of adventures and lovely experiences. Among the many beautiful places in Kerala, Munnar is one of the famous places. It is a lovely hill station that has been famous right from the British rule. The hills covered with tea plantations, waterfalls, rivulets and the pleasant climate provide lot of memories to cherish. Munnar holidays can be an unforgettable experience.

A wonderful holiday destination near Munnar is Nyayamakad, which is about 10kms away from Munnar. It is very well known for its waterfalls that cascade and rolls down the hills from a height of 1600 metres. It is easily accessible from Munnar as well as Rajamala. It is an ideal place for activities such as trekking and gatherings which are made more enjoyable by the surrounding nature.

Eravikulam National Park is another great attraction at Munnar. It is at a distance of 15 kms from the hill station. The park shelters endangered species and rare animals such as butterflies, Nilgiri Tahr and other birds and animals. It has a total area of 97 square kilometers. This place is famous for the Neelakurinji flowers that bloom once in every twelve years. When the flowers bloom, the hills look like they are covered with a blue carpet. This place is also suitable for trekking and mountain biking.
