IBM Thinkpad T30 BIOS Password


i was given this laptop IBM Thinkpad T30 and when i switch it on it requires a password. the owner doesn't remember it also.

any help?

its a IBM protection system..... when you reset the Hardisk i think it initializes to reset the passowrd for the system..user and supervisor...

U mean low-level format?? ;-)



Need a reader (maybe programming too) for the 24RF08. Can someone help me, what should i buy ?

You need to change or reflash the IC on the M/B or change whole M/B, no other solution.

There are many solutions. As it is said, contact Joe in australia. http://www.ja.axxs.net/unlock/crc_repair.htm
or contact me only for the bios password if you are in the Netherlands.
other solutions are:
change the eeprom and reprogram it.
change the motherboard.
but the best solution seems to be the one from Joe which lives in australia.
For his solution you have to make a simple interface I think, then connect the interface to the right legs of eeprom and read it via serial port by another pc. the file which is being created, send it to joe in australia or try to reach the password in it yourself.
Well, everyone now suxess hope you are gonna share your good and awful experiences
