Need to slow a Laptop down in speed


Need to slow down an ibm laptop (266mghz) down to 133-166mghz

What soft do i need to do this

underclocking a pc can be as bad as overclocking it, on a laptop that old i would just leave it mate as it cant be done by software

it would need the multiplier or fsb turned down and i very much doubt those feature will be in the bios and most pentiums have locked multipliers anyway

You just need software. Search the net.
I have used such software about 10 years ago to play 8086 games on my 386 machine.

or install real player 8...when you open real player...it takes over your system and windows runs in the bakground...thus slowing the machine

lol....

have installed Cpu Killer
Which slowed the computer down to whatever u want (ideal when running in windows)
But soft needs to be ran at the dos startup
Ok need to find a Cheap 166mghz laptop
...Maybe Ebay

I think it is a p2 the big thick grey one but it came with a 3 gig hd i put a 10 gig in it
it is very slow m8
i will check it out its at work i will let you no.

I got a real oldie of a Toshiba T1900, 80486 33 MHZ, 300 MB HD, 16 MB RAM

Still going strong

If that was something, just pulled it out of the dust closet, and still working great if you really really need a VERY slow machine hehe (c) Crew
