| For unlocking i use a notebook with AMD K6 400 processor,many months everything was ok.Since 3 days it brings me down. When i connect with cable to Logomanager or nokiatool - phone not connected,also with siemens phones-no connection.But with ericsson phones no problem.<br />I formated the disk new,installed once more win98, no result,the same faults.All cables are checked on another Pc and they are working well.<br />What shall i do - throw out the laptop from my window ? Or somebody can help me ?<br />Thx in advance<br />Vala |

| just a couple of stupid questions first. do you use the same com port for all phones<br />has anything been changed in the bios<br />have you installed any additional software recently<br />Have you tried conecting any other devices to the com port<br />what version of windows are you using<br />when reinstalling did you formay the drive, format it unconditionally<br />also have you tried formatting the mbr |

| If your cable use power from port, try it with external power. I have original cable for Ericsson 6xx and it works well on desktop PC, but on notebook not.... |

Yes i made format c: and got no error messages @ARC<br />changing LPT - no result,same troubles |

| well it would appear to be a faulty com port.\why\the ericsson cable is working i dont know. Check your drivers for the com port are installed ok without conflict. Check all pins are intact on the com port. cant really think of much else! |

| Hi Vala... most likely is your com port broken...<br />the max use power from your com port , but not all connectors with max232 uses the same powersupply pins from your com port... try with volt meter : pin 5 ground<br /> pin 7 rts +12 volt<br /> pin 1 carrier detect +12 v<br /> pin 8 cts +12 volt<br /> pin 4 dtr +12 volt <br />Perhaps one of them is defect..., you can make a cable with two open connector db9 male & female and put it between your com port and serial connector of your datacable... now with volt meter compare your siemens cable and erricson cable to see where the power is needed... greetingz Timitiz.. |
