Selling CarSoft Clone devices Legal issue ?

we sell the clone carsoft interfaces and have just received the below email, just wondering how many of you other sellers out there have had similiar experiences ??

Dear Sir,

We would herewith like to inform you that in case you do not immediately stop marketing/selling "interfaces" in relation to the Carsoft products and- or Versions, we will have no other choice then to prosecute you and your organzation for conspiracy in crime against intellectual property.

Let us explain the situation briefly:

Original Carsoft software, developed and owned by n.v. ADS - Carsoft International, B3500 Hasselt, Belgium, will only function with original Carsoft Hardware and visa versa.

The hardware which your company is offering in relation to Carsoft products will only function with an ILLEGAL and manipulated software version of the legally protected Carsoft software.

This means that you are offering Hardware which is guaranteed NOT COMPATIBLE with ORIGINAL Carsoft software and you are indirectly encouraging people to buy and/or obtain illegal software in order to get the published functionality out of your hardware

Therefore, we kindly ask you to stop your illegal activities at once.

why would any company worry about clone units that don't work according to them with their original software ????

I am pretty sure that ppl that purchase this item are aware it comes without the software anyway so i don't get the emails points tbh

We don't encourage any illegal activity at all, but we are sure like others that ppl do buy cables and equipment with some illegal use in mind (we still don't encourage them in anyway). Customers are reminded to always check local laws regarding useage of any equipment they intend to buy if it breaches laws or regulations in place by their countrys goverment or official ruling body.

Perhaps he should look more closely to companies that clone his products
like www.bus-n-tech.com under Mr. Pedro Povoas, try to close him down first and everyone will believe you! until then, no one will take you seriously since he is selling his product as though he IS CARSOFT COMPANY ITSELF
only thing is, the products he sells don't work at all!!

I think you are wrong. I guess they buy their products from Teleway, and of course teleway car cables, similar as phone cables, have many mistakes.
