What are test points? and how do i use? - GSM-Forum

hi, i'm trying to figure out what i have to do with test points!

I'v been looking around for 2 hours but i cannot seem to find any information about it, only bit and bobs which make no sense!

Say i want to unlock the L7 SLVR, what is the procedure and who do i actually connect to the test point?

i though it might be like a jumper cable from the data cable like on some cables have external power, but there is no such thing on the usb cable needed for the L7 SLVR!

Please can you help, or at least point me in the right direction. Any help is much appreciated.

just found it now!!

all i need to do is connect TP to ground right?

So now i just have to:
1) connect USB cable
2) connect Test Point to ground
3) select Unlock SP in P2k Tool
4) Click Do selected jobs
5) disconnect TP and usb cable.

please let me know if this is correct.

the "motorola testpoints" prog in the support area say's press search but there is no such button on P2k tool unless i'm going blind!

i also have the same situation when some TP i got back to say no I can't do that one coz i never no whats the TP and how to DO that TP if Zulea can available here i want the video of unlocking all the models how to open the phone and cutting the plates and how to connect the TP and after that how unlock the phone

this is some thing i want to know if only one video i can see then i can say i know how to make test point unless i didn't know how ground the TP from where to where. and when u r saying connect/disconnect in unlocking if i lose the battery or some thing whats happen.

HOW TO USE TESTPOINT SOLUTION

1)Phone without battery inserted
2)Plug USB cable to PC
3)Plug USB cable to phone
4)Connect TP to GND.
5)Insert battery
6)Wait 5-6 second
7)DISCONNECT TP
8)Unlock now from software
100% TESTED

thanks a lot, didn't realise it's that easy lol!

i'v been unlocking for years, but alway's avaiod tp's cus i didn't know what they were for, u'r a geat help.

But also you will nee to cut through the shield to get to the testpoint! that is the hardest part
