Tornado Infra Pro

I have just purchased one of these workstations and am wairinf to recive it . I have to say that many of the work stations appear to have problems with their heaters and I have even come across a thread on here indicationg that the jovy 7500e is also problamatic and complaints have been made.

I decided to look on youtube to get some idea of the Tornado infra pro and its ability to deal with xbox 360. Although I have not seen it in actual use it does indicate it will cope with many of the larger motherbaords INCLUDIUNG XBOX 360. It also looks very sturdy and i've read one thread which has said the user still has his working without any problems after several months of use.

I would imagine it is down to how you use your machine. If you are using it day after day with the heater runing for long periods there will be wear on tear on the components. Especially if you walk away from the station leaving it runing. The thing when looking at all workstations is their assembly. If the jovy e breas down you will more than likely have to stop using the whole unit and ship it for repair. If something like the Tornado Infra breaks down you may only leed to send part of the unit for repair. Those are my own thoughts and I cant justify them until I receive my unit and am able to use it. I would highly recommend you find the different videos on 'youtube' and then make a choice.

I had looked at the ACHI and the T870 and T890 and have to say they do not APPEAR to have the same built quality as the Tornado Infra. Again I have to go by what I have read on GSM FORUM and 'youtube'

My unit has cost $800 about £560.oo uk with shipping an im happy with the help I have received. At some point I imagine videos will be posted for the Tornado Infra pro and the xbox360

@old_and_wise:
For the videso, you meant specific Tornado/xbox 360?
Haven been looking on that to, no luck either.
But there are enough Tornado vids on youtube.
You found those?
Or shall I post some links?

What Tornado model/preheater you have?
Is there a manual for it available for download?
On the Tornado, can you use profiles?

On the Achi you can, no need to move heater up/down.
About build quality, well, it's Chinsese, you get what you pay for.
The link on xbox experts, he had a bad top heater.
After (free) replacement, it was fixed.
There is indeed possibility for improvement, like on the used top/bottom heaters.
Probably cheap Chinese to.
If you switch the top heater for an Elstein SHTS/4, like used on the jovy you'll get an whole other machine.
And still cheap enough.
I did some improvements on my Achi.
This is one of the results, try to create this on the Tornado, Jovy or other cheap machines:

Never could get that on my Jovy.
Probably me...
If you see how successful Raheeeeb and others use it...

But it is like you said, you have to learn to use it.
Experiment, analyse, change, adjust...

I am really (positively) curious for the new Jovy RE-8500.
If it can do profiles like that, hopefully even better controlled, will consider it for a next upgrade.

basically, after using the RE-8500 new jovy, i can tell you that the most important thing that new jovy can do is the PID profiling that support dwell up to minutes not seconds!!!!,besides it's new big preheater, and the completely new Jovy PC suite software to control the station from PC!!

Hello all! I am new to this whole thing and am looking into purchasing a rework station. I have been doing "hack" reflows for some time now using a standard home oven but I think it's time to move into a more legitimate position. When trying to decide which machine to buy I find myself overwhelmed at the choices there are out there. It's especially daunting when I have no idea what I am doing... yet. That is why I am researching all this before making a purchase. That said... I was hoping I get get some advice from someone with experience. I want to be able to reflow/reball laptop mb's mostly and may get into xbox later. Would this be a good machine to use?

Bauer BGA IR Pro SCC V4 BGA Reworking Station
Bauer BGA IR PRO SCC V4 @ the BGA store

Someone else sent me this link for another model...
LY IR-Pro SC V3 BGA Reworking Station
LY IR PRO SC V3 @ the BGA store Ltd

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Achi is a Sh*I*T machine Bro and without support.
Scotle is a Sh*I*T company without support and not serious.
i suggest You the Bauer pro scc v4 or Lyir9000 or ly pro sc that are the best, full support, very accurity of temperature and German infrared plates.

The have diffrent distributor in europe or worldwide like

inteltronics.it
elitebga.com
bauerbga.com ( official website )

I don't know why you found the RE-7500 as a miss!!...one of the successful Infrared rework machines ever.

Anyways, if you ask for my advice, to guarantee your money is going to right machien with good features and quality..buy RE-8500 new machine from jovy, i think it's completely different than RE-7500 if u didn't like it!!

ok, it means that if you set the dwell time for example to 100 seconds, you will have a stable setpoint over your target IC allover this period,,, that why i say it has amazing PID controller inside.

Bauer, LY, or whatever chinese brands are all the same: NO SUPPORT WHATEVER.
For that, I have to give credit to Scotle as he usually does try to help.
Have to admit he is more a sales person. Like most.

You are correct the Achi is crap quality. I completely rewired and modded mine.
But for that reason, build quality, it's better to go for Bauer, Ly, Scotle ....
A 3 zone hot air might even be a better choice.
Although, I do have the impression some are struggling with it, like on PS3.

Anyway, before one buys a machine like this, one has to realise:
These are not out of the box unpacking, installing and working machines/technologies.
You will destroy pcbs, chips etc.
And realise support is non-existent.
And I can tell. Helped a lot of people getting their stuff to work correctly.
On different brands, not only Achi.
At least, the ones listening to me and doing lots of experiments to learn how their machine/techology works.

With IR you will destroy more chips than with hot air before getting succes.
Although, I can fix anything with my IR Pro SC.
