high power soldering iron


hello

a question , who uses a 120 / 150w high power solder iron to remove the ic? example, iphone 7 audio ic, iphone 6s pmic ..etc
Share the experience ..

bro could explain a little do you mean by haveing solder on the end a nd lifting it straight from on top of a ic I seen a youtuber do that with a knife edge tip and a blob of solder

yes of course maybe with a more controlled and less empirical system .. check the example , this about a U2 on iphone 5 but same tecnique is applicable to big ic as pmic in critical area or others ic.

the purpose is not to overheat / damage other components in fact there are some tips for iron for this purpose

yes I do bro but I use 75w soldering iron from soldron , here local made company.
you also need very steady hand to do this , and yes it's very usefull for critical areas .

very interesting Ive been thinking about buying a jbc station i have original hakko and was gonna buy a chinese jbc station knock off you think its worth it ?I might just risk it to find out

hi Sarcar , 75w is a low power for big ic infact my test is done on my solder iron with same power but the result is not good .
I've ordered a new station QU**K ts1200a 120w the next test i give here confirmation if it work.

hi , I have seen these Knokoo clones jbc but they are still expensive and certainly of quality but for this specific use I would spend less for a 120 / 150w Quick or clone that is..
