Current meter, all you need really is current limit (maybe display) built into your bench PSU. A bench PSU 0 - 15V is nice for most tasks, current limit can tell you if board is short circuit, and protect your PSU.

You will also need a digital multi meter, best to get as expensive as you can afford. Used for voltage measurement and also continuity / resistance measure.

If you really feel a pro, invest in an oscilloscope. But the price (around £400 GBP for a nice workable unit) is usually too high to justify costs in the begining.

Soldering tools, never buy a cheap iron. Look for the brand Weller, best recommended. Around 40W is good, less time spent heating the board.

Hot air, its up to you - lots of suggestiong by searching the forum

One important thing - ESD (static damage to customers device). Best to put protection in at the start of the project, its much easier.

You can purchase an ESD table mat with wrist strap and mains return plug for a small price from any local industrial electronics supplier.

Good luck!
