LCD separator opinions? Opinions on an LCD separator? I'm wanting to get one but not sure which to go with. eBay has left a bad taste in my ***** on similar items in the past. I'd like to stay in the $200-$300 dollar range but may spend up to $500. If possible, I'd like one out of the USA with a good warranty and that's easy for myself to service if it breaks down. Examples: Edit* I cant post the link to eBay because I'm too new. Keyword search LCD separator, US Only. I hope I posted this in the right sub forum. |
The LCD seperator machines take some getting used too, but they do work. Just practice on old LCD's and watch the YT videos. |
YES pED You right you can buy a simple and cheap machine with 50USD from CHINA, here is the pic http://s27.postimg.org/kw8xz8dpv/separate_machine.jpg |
I bought one for fairly cheap. They now sell them in USA. According to lcdseparatormachines.com , the repair is simple. You place the cracked assembly onto the lcd separator. The machine heats the adhesive between the glass and lcd so you can use a gold wire to defuse the two. I bought the machine and i'm waiting for it to come in. According to the site you can triple your profit from being able to save the lcd. I did some research and I see the glass replacement is only like $6 unlike the whole assembly which is like $30. I can't wait to start my repairs I plan to buy cracked phones and change their screens. |

my suggestion is to practice and practice and practice. Separate glass and lcd seems easy though sometimes is not at all. YT is a good teaching but direct tries are the best. Different phone models needs different way of trating. For example what temperature to set? if it's too cold you might brake completeley the lcd part when trying to separate the glass. If it's too hot you might brake the lcd too. This always need a looot of patience and steady nerves :) If you brake one phone don;t worry the next will go more smooth :) "Happy separating".. good luck x4ce |
I think LCD separator machine is good but has too a limitation because the clamps are good for lcd like iphone but for all other brand you need to buy screen mold for each lcd and think is not cheap |
Sorry I disagree. You don't need mold to separate the screen. Eventually you'll need it when glueing back a new glass. Anyway if you believe clamps art ok for your needs, there's new models with vacuum pump instead of clamps. |
It is not easy 1 Attachment(s) it is not easy! follow the advice of Excessive! I never put the clamps on the phone and I have never run a repair with the glass facing the heater .. I separate the glass always with his face upwards and to anchor it to the machine I built the templates in copper and pliers attach the template to the plate. Attachment 328252 1-remove glass = 10 min 2-remove glue and clean = 1 hour 3-put glue and new glass = 12 min 4-uv lamp and finally cleaning = 30 min |

Why do you suggest doing the lcd down? |
for 2 reasons; 1 - i check the metal wire that does not drag the colored or chrome frame 2 - I have to see what I do. I do not disassemble the LCD from frame too risky and long work (for me). |

I separated some fifty glasses with this system and I have not damaged anything .. if you can 'be useful; machine on the plate heater temperature = 80/85 degrees but be sure of this before I inserted a temperature probe on the glass that I found 58/60 degrees. with these temperatures does not dissolve anything .. the only thing that melts are the nerves ..:D |
I upgraded my lcd separator machine last week to the vacuum one. It is so much better then the clamps as it holds on to even the most cracked screens. |
