Is the ultrasonic cleaner a necessary equipment for your lab?

When customers comes with water damage phones the first thing i do is to tear down the motherboard and brush it with isopropyl alcohol99% and a soft toothbrush.
After brushing is complete i wash the motherboard in the ultrasonic cleaner.
After cycle is completed i wipe and dry it with HOT AIR GUN (852d+ Rework Station) at 100C° and lowest power air.

i use this one (AOYUE 9050) and i can definitely tell that it is Very BAD Cleaner i don't recommend .

A good Ultrasonic Cleaner must have at least:
-TIMER function so you can select how long the washing time must go on.
-HEATER to warm up the cleaning fluid and improve the cleaning process to remove oxidations.

Optional functions:
-SWEEP function to prevent the motherboard sensible components to be ruined by ultrasonic waves.

Cleaning fluids:
To fill the ultrasonic cleaner Tank i use isopropyl alcohol99,9%. I never tried other cleaning solutions and i really would like to share experience of someone that had tried something like SEA CLEAN2 products or different cleaning fluids.

Im scared about the cleaning fluids that need to be dilute with water because i think it will generate more oxidation. feel free to contradict me please

now i ordered an Elmasonic product and i will share my experience soon.

Hi sir, what kind of pcbs you want clean? And why you want clean it with ultrasonic cleaner?

In my opinion the one with heater could be better solution for removing oxide from water damaged pcbs. If you planning to use it just for cleaning purposes such as removing flux after soldering process, or oil, dust or some organic residues you can easily choose the one without heater. :-P

Btw heater or not the most important thing in ultrasonic cleaning process is the cleaning fluid to use with.
I'm not so expert to recommend you in this choice because I use just isopropyl alcohol99,9%.
Is better to wait someone more expert than us ;-)

we use ultrasonic cleaner 15l at our store for water damage repairs, we have found that using the proper procedures and solution is critical

we used to use denatured alcohol which did clean some boards, but we had to experiment with different chemicals to get the best results and remove the corrosion or rust
