Very Tiny Resitors


Hi Everyone,

I have a questing as a newbie about the very very tiny resitors on the iphone 4 pcb.

What do i need to get them installed on the pcb, i already have a rework station and tweezers, but still they are to small to fix them on the pcb.

What im a missing here???

This is like being a surgeon, 1 slip and things get moved or b l o w n off the board.
Unless you got eyes like an eagle you need a good microscope.
Most of all practice on old boards and experiment with heat airflow and time on the component size as a reference for future size components.

It's hard & needs a steady hand when dealing with such small components.

Practice makes perfect

Pratices does it, does special tweezers exist for the very tiny resistors/capicitors, because the myn i have are to big to hold them with it?

I have ESD tweezers and compared to some of these SMD components look huge under the microscope..

Try and look on u-tube for some videos of their equipment, solder compound / flux used as an example.

It takes time and patients Good luck with age comes knowledge

search for better twezers , all my twezers have their tips cut or sanded, they are sharp as needles and I always sting myself. I don't know what you have but the ones i use are usualy to sharp even for those tiny resistor

I have bought my from ifixit.com.

Im new to this, but im good om my way thanks to you guys.

Those off my ar also sarph but when i try to hold down an very tiny resitor on the pcb from a iphone, it looks like i want to pick one sand korrel with my tweezer.

The resistor is to small.

you can easily pick a sand piece with those , all it needs is practice , too much pressure trying to hold them is the problem most of the times

I have received today my hrc40 tweezers.
The tip is smaller then myn own tweezers.

Im wanting on myn usb microscoop 800x 2 megapixel, then i will try it again i hope i dont fry myn iphone pcb.

Just for reference, I had to have ESD per Service Centre rules & these are from Company Wiha and cost a bomb
