Exclamation Philips want go into TAT-Mode with Redbox2!!!

Hi friends,

few days ago i am received my new Redbox 2 and during testing i am found one problem with my redbox. From 5 Philips phones i can enter TAT mode only with 1 or 2 phones...... After research i am find out that +5V on pin 1 of the RJ45 socket is missing. I am add direct +5V connection from 78L05 voltage regulator to pin 1 of RJ45 socket and now all is working fine, all phones can go into TAT mode.
My questions are:
-is this modification normal for REDBOX2 or have i maybe cable problem?
-are there also other HW modifications for REDBOX2?

Redbox Team please replay!
Thanks in advance.

Regards,

RTVM

i can use cable on com1 with external power but the redbox2 has the built in max232 with the 78L05 regulator so we must use it. The problem is that i haven't found +5V out from the regulator (may be it is not powered) so i am plannig to make a short from the usb +5V to the pin8 of the regulator to make it powered. I will try and tell the results.
@RTVM, have u done that to make ur philips cable powered?

Yes it is right, i am was opened my Redbox!
If you want to use your redbox also as universalbox you just need to solder 2 bridges(+5V and GND) on the PCB.The soldering points you can see good on the redbox PCB when you open it.

If you want just to improove TAT mode on some Philips phones(fisio820,822,825 etc..),than you need to solder a wire direct from +5V of the 78L05 regulator to Pin1 of RJ45 socket.Pin 1 of RJ45 is normally not used! This pin is free.

Yawacom:

The 78L05 can give voltage first when you start the soft, it is COM powered circuit.

I soldred the wire from the regulator to pin1 but when i tried on philips azalis 238 it goes in tatmod untill 50% and then the soft says "error TATMOD" but the phone shows TATMOD on lcd, tried also with fisio 825: the same thing. I really don't understand what is the problem because i used my box for LG, Benq, Maxon, Samsung, Sharp, Nec 22i successfully but with philips always the error 50% at TATMOD. I have serial cable for all philips but i have to understand why it won't work for me with RJ45 philips cable of my redbox

Solder also the two bridges on PCB. On this way the circuit will be powered from the USB connector.
