W810i debrand question

I have a Rogers branded W810i purchased in Canada. I'm probably gonna unlock it through TMS first since WotanServer and DaVinci don't seem to support unlocking this phone just yet. After unlocking I want to newest firmware R4DB005. DaVinci team claims with their newest client 16.3 AMR can be retained. Rogers branded W810i all come with AMR enabled. Would WotanServer retain it as well?

I would like to have simplified chinese support after I flash it with R4DB005 and still be able to update from SEUS in the future. I assume the following configuration would work?

Main: W810_CXC1250317_CHINA_HN_R4DB005_RED49
FS: W810_CXC1250324_CHINA_R4DB005_RED49
CDA: 102494/13

Hi,

new 0.9.903 release can enable AMR on any supported phone.

To have Simplified Chinese support just select Generic China CDA in our client. You will be able to use SEUS in the future.

Have you heard of the unlocking service by TMS at all? I posted in their support forum and still haven't gotten a reply. Would WotanServer support unlocking later on? If so I would just skip that step for now, debrand with Wotan first then wait for the unlocking service later. From what I can tell from the screenshots your app seems to be the cleanest and easiest one to use.

Another question, I already have SEUS installed, would I still need to install the DCU60 Flash Drivers?

Hmm after reading TMS's version history carefully I don't see anything in regards to actually unlocking W810 so I might be mistaken. But I do recall seeing on SE-NSE forums that you posted a poll about new features. I vote for unlocking! haha I'll wait about your comment in regards to the DCU60 drivers.

I bought two more credits and flashed the phone using Singapore Malaysia, Philippines configuration instead. China turns the phone into W810c and has a generally Chinese based menu interface as well. Whereas Singapore gives Simplifed Chinese but with a English based menu interface.

I am thinking about getting a w810i for a long time now. I hate to order from Ebay and not knowing what I might get. All I want is a phone that has English menu but be able to read Chinese Simplified Id3 tags. So to ask experts' advice here, would the best way to go is to wait for Cingular branded w810i (i don't care about cingular branding or being locked) to come out and use Wotanserver to flash with of the language packs (I guess you have to flash the whole firmware not just the language pack it's self) listed above. My warranty will not be affected either right?

2 additional questions:
1. Does the phone have to be unlocked to be flashed?
2. Another question is how risky is it to flash phones?

Yes you have to flash whole firmware. Debranding voids warranty but soon there will be option to rebrand your phone before sending to service center ;D

1. no, unlock has nothing to do with flashing
2. if you have battery 100% charged then is absolutely safe

Hi, just wondering, I'm from Holland and have a Vodafone branded W810i, so I need these to debrand:

W810_R4CK003_FS_EUROPE_3.DVT
W810_R4CK003_MAIN_EU-EMEA-US.DVT
CDA102494/75

I know there is a newer version R4DB005, but I see there ain't a EUR3 version (yet), anyway not on seuniverse ftp. Don't know if it is available at SEUS because my 810 is still branded so it won't update.


My question is the following, do you have the R4DB005 EUR3 file or can I use the R4CK003 version?
Also if I use Wotanserver do I get the flash lite enabled?

Hi, I don't know much about phones so excuse my ignorance. I got an SEw800 from a friend who got new one as an upgrade from Orange. My question is
- wotaserver can unbrand the phone, does unbranding means, I can use this phone on all the networks? Or is it unlocking. I'm from Czech republic where we talk about "unblocking" the phone.

All I want is to be able to use this phone on all other networks, not just Orange and if poss, stick Czech lang in it too.

Can I do this on wotanserver with orig. cable DCUI-60?

About unlocking can not tell for now.

If you have SEUS installed then no need to install USBFlashDriver again of course.
