Software works with any universal RS232 box, and also with any USB2serial cables. You just have to select the com port where your cable/box resides.

Please tell me what phones are you trying to connect, i will try to to advise you how to proceed.

As some basic advices:

1. Take care not to have firewall or antivirus wich use invasive techniques as memory writes in processes Themida wrapper does not like this, and JAF Philips use Themida wrapper.

2. Use universal interface or USB2serial cable, but try to select Normal speed if you ecounter problems.

3. For usual Philips phones from new generation (162 and up) wich use the so called "Jack boot" don't use the Recovery Mode from Extende features with normal cable. That option is usable when the phone is dead and does not boot anymore and you need to solder wires on tespoints.

4. Check the cables, these are the source for most if the problems.

Regards
J.A.F. Philips

Hi,

if you can connect in Test Mode then the cable is OK. I investigated the 535 and it works ok for reading/writting flash. If you read the Langpack first, then you read full flash from an unknown version the lang filename will remain at default name, but what you are saving is not the langfile again, but the flash, just modify the name and click save. Look at the size of the file, if is over 4mb is full flash, if is under 1mb is langfile. No matter the extension, you just upload it to me. ...or Untill the new update (coming today) you can read the flashes like this (for this model only):

Click on the Extended features, then Recovery Mode, the phone will boot in usual way. Then read flash, and post the links here. In the next version the FTP will be up and running and you will can use the Send Flash button from Extended features.

Regards
J.A.F. Philips

p.s. If you send me the files today will be included in the next update coming today.

Hi,

well, on my tests on 535 (wich is identical with 530) all works fine. From what i see it gets detected a flash of 4Mb, well the 530 series have 8Mb flashes, so this might be the problem, a shared flash id.

Contact me on [email protected] i will send you a special modified version to detect the exact flash id number, detect the share ratio, and update the core to support this sub type also.

Regards

Nice work, tested on 355.
But what about flash file support?
I would need 330 flash files with East European LNG.
