355 will not connect

Trying to unlock a 355 but it will not connect, I have connected the testpoint cable with a full battery & 9v supply on cable but I keep getting ""time out""

Can anybody guide me on how to unlock this phone or where i'm going wrong.

Im using latest version of 2.85

Hi,

to connect the phone is Test Mode for Read Code, Unlock, Repair Locks, etc you must conect the phone with the JACK cable, not with testpoint.

Testpoint is intended only for repairing pourposes in this software, flashing, language packs, etc.

To conect in flash mode with testpoints, go to Extended features then Recovery Mode.

I got a complete set of com port / PS2 cable's from my reseller as there does not seem to be a JACK cable for this phone which is why I used the testpoint cable as this was the only cable to fit the phone.

Do I need to ask my reseller for different cables such as RJ45's, the same as JAF?

Hi,

just as your reseller for Philips Jack cable, if he knows his job he will provide you in no time.

Otherwise you can make it by yourself or change the reseller

Look on Philips Pinouts topic to see the jack connector. You can make it from any Panasonic X300 or G55 cable (same have the same pinout also).

OK, I have spoken to my reseller & he informs me to use a Motorola T191 jack cable to unlock this phone but I still cannot get the phone to connect.

Is he right in saying this?

Hi,

yes but T191 is not 100% compatible, so you have to find the "right" position when you plug it into the phone. Usually you have to plug it until the then end, then pull it back 1mm or so.
