Of course it cant connest to the server if there is no sim card it it?

it connects to the server fine when there is a sim card loaded but how is it going to connect to the server without my sim card in it?

thanks for the reply but i have read that post and i turned my firewall off and tried to do it.
Any other ideas?

yea i tried on my friends laptop aswel, same thing happens, does the programme conect to the server even though there is no sim card in the modem?

problem solved.
The usb modem i wanted to unlock was the same one i was acually using to access the internet, so when i took the sim card out to unlock it i lost the internet conection and couldnt connect to the server.
So, i pluged my laptop into another internet connection then pluged my usb modem in without the sim card and all went well.
I hope this helps anyone with the same sorta problem.
