What do I have to do to get this W850 unlocked? - GSM-Forum

Hi..
I bought this W850i in used and defect condition, the seller told me it was unlocked, but when I got it repaired it says "insert correct sim" when pin code has been entered..
Want to unlock again with KulaKendi, but got this msg: Firmware not supported for patch unlocking..

Have you downloaded the sfl files also?...if not, download and extract as it says on sticky thread here and read the phone again.

Yes, I have dloaded the sfl zip file and extracted it to the proper dir, but I
cant recall if I did the readout before I dloaded/extracted, or after, I'm at work right now, so I have to check it out when I'm home..

If your firmware is not supported, just flash your phone with a supported firmware (CID51 in your case) and after that you will be able to unlock it.

And, then I have to use two credits?...

Will I be able to upgrade trough SEUS aftewards without relocking the phone?

Its is a bit strange that you have all locks closed and no proper mcc+mnc (service provider) code

Anyway....flash it first with matching cid 51 files of your choice and then unlock.... when u upgrade the firmware press cancel when asks to upgrade erom cid!!...you already have maximum aloud to use this server and if you upgrade to cid52 kulankendi server will no longer work for unlocking for you (at the moment anyway) so you must keep same cid

Never upgrade via SEUS as your phone will re-lock again and you will end up with cid52!!

How many logs you still have left?... if still two you didnt finalize the phone when you flashed firmware.

You must always remove battery and cable and replace after.

What fault did this phone originally have??

One log left...Yes I did finalize...The fault was the flexcable connection between lower and upper part of the phone..

Like I said very strange you have all locks closed..... if you do a search on this forum on "5 locks closed" you will find this is a problem with bad unlocking...normally caused by universal box

.... I think your problem starts there my friend and perhaps Kulankendi can advise you...other than that I cant say....sorry

Who knows what happens when all 25 attempts have been made, and wrong codes have been used on all...
Believe that will lock the phone seriously...

Btw..
Now the phone wont turn on either..Seems completely dead...
I had it switched on after the flash before unlock procedure started..

How do I get a new GDFS file into this phone?

do not flash phone, just repeat unlock operation, at this step when U got error server not count U credit, so U can repeat it many times.
I'm curious why U got this error

1. Do UR battery is good charged?
2. Do U wait long to remove cable and battery and put back battery and plug cable ?? This need to be made smoth in 3-5 sec time, longer wait can cause this error

I do not flash phone, and yes I'm aware that credit wont be counted.

Definately, I have 2 batts, 1 allways fully charged..

Might be the cause, I try to unplug/reinsert cable/batt b4 prog continues, must be very quick, think 3 sec is the most allowed..

Will do more attempts...

power on phone and look at battery indicator, if phone will show empty battery and after 6-10 sec will show correct battery indicator then it mean that U have broken security blocks or DCRCs erased. U have 50/50% chances to fix it by logs solution by Service way.
