About IMEI

1. First thing i want to ask you all people in India.. are you guys out of your mind??? some software is generating IMEI on its own (under Nokia, Samsung, HTC series) and you still think it can be legal? offcourse its ILLEGAL!!!

people please go and read more about IMEI. its "International Mobile Equipment Identity". Means a unique number for all GSM mobile phones which exists in world. but this so called gift from infi which generates IMEI on its own does nothing just makes a random number on its own and writes to the phone. WHICH IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL

IMEI is supposed to be issued for a particular brand to a particular model / series. for which companies like nokia, samsung, etc. pay money... just imagine someone duplicating your sim number and using it without your permission. what kind of a action u will take,, just expect same action from Nokia, Samsung, HTC, etc, etc against us in next few days.

2. ET can make this kind of an update in seconds, people asking me today when will ET make this update, when we see IMEI repair in ET,, etc etc. I say, i better die but not make this in ET. this is totally cheating customer and the worst part is that, dont know when can any legal action be taken against all those who are using this feature, and be in prison for this.

3. They (infi) say that they dont know if IMEI change is illegal in India or not, but can i ask them if its legal in any country in any part of the world? guys you are thinking of using nokia IMEI on 2 crore handsets. if Nokia comes into action then all of us... means ALL OF US in INDIA will be in problem. not only infi users. cause we all know if NOKIA or any other brand comes into action once, then they can cut off all the mobile phone service industry softwares in India market.

4. our govt. is making this step to stop all the miss-use of mobile phones by terrorists and un-friendly people. but if anyone can just generate and put any imei then again what is the use?? just think of yourself. what you are doing, this can be done by anyone. even a terrorist can buy a 10k software from market and make all his phone legal...

5. i am seriously hurt today with such a stupid action from such an intelligent team.. "Software contain special database and methods to generate correct imei".... gosh,, how can they even say this?? i used to respect this team a lot. from day 1,,,, but seriously hurt today.

"we do not promote any illegal activity !" guys you are giving option to put Nokia IMEI on 2 crore handsets and you are saying you not promoting illegal activity? atleast dont cheat your customers and fc.uk India market. i just pray to g.o.d that your customers and users dont go to prison for using this feature.

DONT KNOW WHERE IS THIS BUSINESS GONNA GO.....

No,, thats not at all illegal, this is what actually called repairing IMEI and this can be done by ET-BoX. u just need to write the old IMEI back to the phone after formatting. but generating a different IMEI randomly and writing it on phone is totally illegal.

I have to share..few point share regarding imei ...if china phone dont have security even u write legal imei after format ..the imei becames 12345.... Then u have to write a new imei or to restore old..which not done by technician. 2ndly in my state motorola, samsung also detect unauthersied imei. Now what u peoples say...just ban china phone only solution exist..its a national security concerned ..around world ..not only for india
