Maybe bad batch of video chips. Or maybe bad screen/cable. But if VGA isn't working, then video output is bad. I had a run of bad 0752001 chips until I found a source for 2013 date code new ones.
STRONG EXUBERANT ELECTRONICS has new ones that work.

NF-G6150-N-A2 - Current Trusted Suppliers for USA?

Hey all

I'm asking you guys...especially Dan Collins, where is a trusted source to buy the NF-G6150-N-A2 GPU? I'm only doing this as a hobby right now while learning.

I was able to remove the G6150 from my HP DV6000/RG279UA#ABA, reball it, and reflow it back on with my RE-8500. Put it back together and of course, flaky video - basically backlit black screen with random temporary tiny lines flashing on and off. I heard the computer POST one time with display down, lifted the display up, restarted and now just get the above.

I'm assuming the NF-G6150-N-A2 is bad as it is date coded 52nd week of 2006.

Are the GPU's date-coded 2009 the newer improved version? There are a few for sale on eBay that are year 2009.

So again who do you trust to buy new ones from?

Thanks,
Dan G
