"This may take some time"
when the program displays this, it means the program is busy processing the data which is downloaded. It depends on your pc how quick it can process the data. If it takes more than 5 minutes and if it still doesn't do anything further, please try a diffrent pc and also read the FAQ & Troubleshooting.

After the file is processed, the lids will flash while the clip is being updated, but as long as the file is not processed yet, the lids can be either on or off. The clip must be ok, cuz I see that your clip's serial can be read by program.

Question Updating troubles, need help

hi, mate, nice to enjoy the forum supporting.
Now, i have some troubles on updating the clip, and need your help urgently.
I can guarantee that the cable driver and .net framework 2.0 are all well installed:
I can find a COM4 port added and two leds lighted after i plug in the cable; and the program can be launched.
The left i can do is pushing the UPDATE button, and waiting till updating is ok, but after searching COM1, COM2, COM4, the log always displays like this:

No Smart-sam Connected,. or the usb cable is not connected

need your help and suggestion, thanks.

The cable might not be fully placed in the clip, try to put it better. ifyou still have the same problem where it can't find the clip, it means your update cable is defective. try another one ifyou have or contact ur resller for a new one.

Please retry. if still the same problem, try to put another rj45 connector on the cable. and make the cable shorter between the converter and rj45.

mate, i don't understand your exact meaning.
i've tried many many times, it seems like that the updating is going into a dead loop unless the updating succeed.
and, the GUI of the updating application can't be refreshed again. (single-threaded routine?)
i don't know where is the other rj45 connector. there is ONLY ONE rj45 connector in the clip or in the cable (male or female). and, i think that the cable is too short to shorten. the rj45 output cable (from the PL2303 black box) is LESS THAN 20 centi-meter long.

need your other solution urgently, mate, thanks.
