GD 87 and Winmodo

Hi, the problem I've got is with Winmodo. I've followed the flashing guide for going back to A22, but what happens is after winmodo3.3b starts signalling the GD 87 gets the green light and in the small display appears "GD87 flash installer signalling" and that's how it stays.I've left it for an hour still stuck.I've 2 cables, both work with CB2000 no problems, I assume they are flash cables as they don't need pins 4 and 10 taping over....any ideas?

After "signalling" message, if winmodo doesn't progress, press ctrl+alt+del and cancel.

Be sure your phone is fully charged !!!

Cheers, I should of been more accurate with the info...the P.C. dosen't lock up, I can stop winmodo without the 3 finger salute, the P.C. is working o.k.... it's just after signalling in winmodo and the signalling reply from the phone ..that's it..nada...no erase message..nothing..just signalling from winmodo and "Flash Loader GD87 Version 1.4 Signalling" from the phone no matter how long I leave it? The GD87 is on Orange if that's a help? Plus edit tools 2 doesn't work with the cables...Com port problem maybe?

Don't stop the pc or winmodo
After signalling, just press ctrl+alt+del and press cancel to close the window without stopping anything

Don't you need to press the ON button, at the signalling message?

This maybe the problem......I may have to make a Win 98 partition....but it involves shrinking one of the others, Shame this stuff doesn't work in Mandrake.....yep Blartiartfast you do power on after winmodo tells you it's signalling,....and the phone tells you it's signalling back...it's after that nothing happens the phone and winmodo just sit there signalling...sorta mutual semaphore, but no resultant actions I shall create a 98 slice and report back....maybe this an Xp thing? I generally run all my Nokia clip progs under Me..unless they are irda..which tends to work under Xp better....I just love a mystery!!!!

Question arrghh

Well it turns out both cables I had were something...but not unlock???? Both work with CB2000 but bog all else? So in desperation.....I got another cable from http://www.mobilefun.co.uk and guess what?? it works, downgraded to A22 no probs, so I've 3 cables now...all three are 9 pin com 1...but are all wired different internally? So it's unlocked, but whilst reading other posts found that the imei number is printed under the battery, on checking the phone *#06# it doesn't match? On asking the guy where he got it ...he now tells me it's off a mate[not what he said originally] who said it was working when he sold it! Assuming it's not nicked is it feasible to change the imei back to the printed one?
