Gd55 Voda UK code - Which one?

Does anyone know for sure which code you use to unlock the GD55 on Vodafone UK, Everyone puts conflicting storys, Also do you need to take the battery off or not?
Most people say **00032 and other say **00012. But is anyone 100% sure which code to use.
Thanks
