GD88 Transfer speed with serial cable - GSM-Forum

I have a serial cable (which used to be a service cable, but I made the necessary modifications to turn it into a data cable) and when I transfer files using "Edit Tool Software" it takes over 2 minutes for a 50kb file (well actually 48 kb). Is this how long it is supposed to take, or could it maybe be because my cable is messed due to it not being a proper data cable? Could someone please tell me how long it should take? Thanks for your help.
